New Delhi, June 16: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Saturday urged for 50-50 per cent share in Central resources for states in the spirit of cooperative federalism.
Speaking at the meeting of 5th Governing Council of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said,''It has been observed in the recent years that the central Government raises additional resources through cess and surcharges. As these resources are not in the divisible pool, the states do not get their legitimate share.''
Nath called for correcting this anomaly by making amendment in the Constitution to provide for sharing such funds.
For river rejuvenation he called for having a separate realistic river action plan for major tributary rivers. For minerals he advocated for having separate policy for separate major minerals.
