Bhopal, June 14: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Thursday directed creation of permanent redress plans for the potable water issue in urban and rural areas and to complete them within the prescribed time-limit.
Reviewing the status at a meeting of the Public Health Engineering Department and the Jal Nigam Board of Directors at Mantralaya, he said, “Apart from raising financial resources, the cost of operation and maintenance should be assessed and endeavours made to become self-reliant so that schemes run smoothly. Formulate the Water Act and Drinking Water Policy rapidly; study various models for implementation of supply schemes on public-private partnership and annuity mode.”
Establishment of Nigam project units in Mandsaur, Neemuch and Chhindwara districts have been approved. (UNI)
