Bhopal, June 10: In the wake of the victory in the byelection to the Chhindwara Assembly seat which coincided with the 17th general election, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath was administered oath on Monday as Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) by Speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati on the Vidhan Sabha premises.
Among those present on the occasion were Leader of the Opposition Gopal Bhargava, Home Minister Bala Bachchan, Public Relations Minister PC Sharma, numerous other Cabinet colleagues and officers of the administration.
Nath assumed the chief ministerial mantle on December 17, 2018. Thereafter it became mandatory for him to become a legislator in a period not exceeding six months. Deepak Saxena tendered his resignation as Chhindwara MLA to pave way for Nath. (UNI)
