Bhopal, Feb 28 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath averred on Thursday that the agrarian debt remission scheme heralds a revolution in the direction of the farm sector’s betterment and it is his cherished dream to perceive smiles on cultivators’ countenances in times to come.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Jai Kisan Crop Loan Waiver programme in Harda District’s Timarni, an official release said. “Debt gets linked with the tiller at the time of birth and continues till death.
The setting aside will boost the economy; in the next five days, dues up to a ceiling of Rs 2 lakh of 25 lakh farmers will be waived. Soon after I assumed the mantle, the first file inked was for thus benefitting 55 lakh growers. Our biggest challenge is agricultural production. Producers should get fair prices for their output, this is our priority,” he said. (UNI)
