Morena, MP, Feb 3: The driver of a tractor trolley – laden with sand illegally mined from the Chambal river – has attempted to crush a forest ranger in the vicinity of Badokhar village but fled after forest guards fired four rounds in the air, Forest Department sources said.

A tip-off was received on Saturday regarding approximately two dozen such vehicles parked together. Officials accompanied by Special Armed Force personnel reached the spot and attempted to appropriate the tractor trolleys whose drivers accelerated the vehicles on seeing the authorities. One of the tractor trolleys was surrounded and the attempt on Mr RP Raikwar’s life followed. The vehicle was subsequently seized. (UNI)
