Bhopal, Jan 31: With the objective of combatting heinous offences, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath averred on Wednesday that his dispensation shall prepare a concrete strategy in the near future to ensure rapid justice for women and children subjected to sexual violence.
This was stated at his residence during an interaction with the Garima Yatra team – under the Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan’s banner – which is undertaking a countrywide tour with the goal of spreading awareness, an official release said.
“Incidents of atrocities against women and girls in a civilised society are nothing short of shameful but we can tackle this problem with joint participation of government and society. I laud the Abhiyan’s initiative. My regime is committed vis-a-vis safety and I expect this team’s cooperation in our endeavours,” Mr Nath said.
The journey commenced in Mumbai on December 20 last year and shall culminate in Delhi on February 22 by which date the Yatra will have traversed 200 districts in 24 states and covered 10,000 km.
Coordinator Arif Shaikh, Sadiq Aagwan, Urmila Devi, Shanti Prajapati, Durga, Rekha Chouhan, Rajendra Mewada and Sameer Tawer were present on the occasion.
