MP Cong files poll code violation complaint over Smart City Project

Bhopal, Nov 6: The principal-opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh has demanded an immediate halt to the ongoing construction of the Smart City Project in front of the TT Nagar Stadium describing it as a violation of the Model Code of Conduct in force in the poll-bound state.

In a complaint to the Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer, the Congress has demanded that the work be stopped immediately and guilty officials be punished.
The party alleged that a 'Haat Bazar' is being built at the parking site near the TT Nagar Stadium's main gate. The objective is to influence the electorate in the favour of ruling party, and thus it violated the poll code.

Congress Spokesperson JP Dhanopia today said that complaint in this regard was made on Sunday. A copy was sent to the Chief Election Commissioner's office as well. (UNI)
