Amit Shah arrives in MP

Indore, MP, Oct 6: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah today arrived on a day-long visit to Madhya Pradesh.

Amit Shah arrived at the airport here. He was welcomed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. BJP Vice-President Kailash Vijayvargiya was also present. Amit Shah inaugurated the three-day 'Maha Jansampark Abhiyan (mass contact programme)' at Rajwada here. He has left for Dussehra Ground where he would address a conference of party workers.

Later, he would visit Jhabua and address an 'Adivasi Sammelan.' He would then leave for Jaora where he would address a conference of farmers at the Bhagat Singh College Ground. He would then reach Ujjain and address a conference of party workers.

Mr Shah would then have 'darshan' at the Mahakal and leave for Indore from where he would depart for New Delhi.

Meanwhile, more than 30 people – including 10 women – were arrested for demonstrating against Mr Shah's visit in protest against the amendment to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act that undid the 'dilution' of certain provisions pertaining to immediate arrest for an offence.
