5 people test positive for COVID-19, total mounts to 9 in Ladakh

Leh, May 24 : Five more persons, all residents of Kargil, were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh to nine. So far, 43 Coronavirus patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery. Ladakh UT spokesperson Rigzin Samphel said three persons from Kargil tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

''Two Iran returnees, residents of Kargil, were tested positive for the infection on Saturday,'' he said, adding the duo was already in institutional quarantine.'' They have been shifted to an isolation ward in a hospital. He said one student, who returned from Jammu, tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
