Thiruvananthapuram, May 27 : Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to appoint Senior IAS officer Dr Vishwas Mehta as the next Chief Secretary of the state. The 1986 batch official, Dr Vishwas Mehta, will be replacing Tom Jose, who will be retiring on May 31, 2020. Dr Mehta will be in service till February 19, 2021, an official release said.
Dr Vishwas Mehta, currently Additional Chief Secretary (Home), will assume office on June 1. Senior IAS official TK Jose, who is now PWD secretary, will be the new Home Secretary. Revenue Secretary V Venu has been made Secretary of State Planning Board. A Jayathilak will be the new Revenue Secretary.
Thiruvananthapuram Collector K Gopalakrishnan will be the new Malappuram Collector. Ms Navjyoth Khosa will be the new District Collector of Thiruvananthapuram. Alappuzha District Collector M Anjana has been made Kottayam District Collector. Ishitha Roy has been made Agricultural Production Commissioner, the release added. (UNI)
