Kochi, May 12 : Kochi Metro is preparing to resume services as the third phase of lock down is coming to an end and train services were partially restarted in the country. Apart from arranging a contactless ticketing system, passengers will be made to enter through thermal scanning cameras at metro stations. An average of 175 passengers will be allowed in a metro train, official sources said on Tuesday.
As per the contactless ticketing system, the passenger can take the ticket after depositing money in a special box. Also thermal scanning cameras will be set up at all major stations in the city such as Edappally and Kaloor stadium within a week. The temperature in the metro train will be adjusted between 24 and 26 degree celsius. The trains will be disinfected on a daily basis. Metro service in Kochi was halted since the lockdown was implemented. Meanwhile, the metro is busy completing maintenance works. (UNI)
