Thunderstorm likely in Kerala during May 7-11

Thiruvananthapuram, May 7 : Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds, speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph was likely at one or two places during May 7 to 11 in Kerala, local MeT office said here on Thursday.

Thunderstorm with wind speed reaching 40 kmph (in gusts) accompanied by moderate rainfall was very likely to occur at one or two places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannur and Wayanad districts. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Lakshadweep on May 7, it further said. Squally weather with wind speed reaching 35-45 Kmph was likely to prevail over Comorin area and adjoining Maldives area. Fishermen were advised not to venture into these areas, it added. (UNI)
