COVID-19 : Fruit shop closed after lorry driver test positive

Kottayam, Apr 23 : A lorry driver, who reached here to deliver goods to a fruit shop, travelled along with another driver who had tested positive for COVID-19.

As many as 17 persons who had come into contact with the driver had been quarantined, health officials said on Thursday. Both the drivers were coming from Dindigul with watermelon. The COVID-19 positive driver felt uncomfortable and sought treatment at Palakkad on April 19 Meanwhile, the other driver drove the vehicle to Kottayam on April 21.

Meanwhile, the first driver tested positive at Palakkad. Health officials collected the samples of the other driver who was taken to Palakkad general hospital. The blood samples of the owner of the fruit shop and an employee were taken and sent for testing. The shop was closed. (UNI)
