COVID-19 : SR cancels exp trains due to low occupancy

Palakkad, Mar 19 : Due to low occupancy in view of the Coronavirus threat, Southern Railway (SCR) has cancelled Duronto Express, Janshatabdi Express and weekly express trains.

A release from Palakkad divisional office of SR on Thursday said Train No.12082 Thiruvananthapuram – Kannur Janshatabdi Express is fully cancelled on March 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 29 and 30 (8 Services) Train No.12081 Kannur – Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi Express is fully cancelled on March 21, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31(8 Services) Train No.22609 Mangalore Central-Coimbatore Intercity Super Fast Express is fully cancelled from March 20 to 31(12 services), Train No.22610 Coimbatore-Mangalore Central Intercity Express from March 21 to April 1 (12 services) is fully cancelled, Train No 16630 Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Malabar Express journey commencing from March 20 to 31 is fully cancelled (12 services), Train No 16629 Thiruvanananthapuram – Mangalore Central Malabar Express journey commencing on March 21 to April 1 is fully cancelled (12 services).

The service of Train No.12223 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Ernakulam Duronto Express Journey commencing on March 21, 24, 28, and 31 is fully cancelled (4 services). The service of Train No 12224 Ernakulam - Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Duronto Express Journey commencing on March 22, 25, 29 and April 1 is fully cancelled (4 services). The service of Train No.12698 Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Central SuperFast Weekly Express Journey commencing on March 21and 28 is fully cancelled (2 services). The service of Train No. 12697 Puratchi Thalaivar Dr.M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway station -Thiruvananthapuram Central Weekly Express journey commencing on March 22 and 29 is fully cancelled (2 services), the release said. (UNI)
