COVID-19: Medico with symptoms admitted to Thrissur hospital

Thrissur, Mar 15 : A girl student with symptoms of COVID-19, who returned from Kalaburagi where Karnataka's first death was reported, has been admitted to district medical hospital on Sunday. The girl, along with 10 other medico students, serving in the Kalaburagi hospital travelled in a bus from Bangalore and reached here last night.The medical team which examined them in the bus found the girl had symptoms of the deadly virus.

All other students were asked to be in quarantine at home. Meanwhile, the UK citizen who was found positive and admitted to Kalamassery medical hospital, had visited Cheruthuthuruthy and Athirappally in Thrissur before going to Munnar resort. He was intercepted and before boarding a flight at the Cochin airport and taken to the hospital. A total of 1937 people are under observation in the district and of them 52 are in hospital. Meanwhile, medical authorities said a virology laboratory will start functioning in the medical college hospital from tomorrow. (UNI)
