Agency News

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 3 : Kerala Assembly on Tuesday witnessed unruly scenes after Industry Minister EP Jayarajan uttered offensive words against Congress member Shafi Parambil who moved an adjournment motion on Periya twin murder case in Kasargod district.

The Industry Minister used abusive words against the Congress member when Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was replying to the adjournment motion, repeatedly stating that the Government was not answerable to nonsensical questions raised by someone.

When the Opposition members disrupted the Chief Minister's reply, the Industry Minister stood up and shouted through the Chief Minister's mike. Following which, the Opposition members entered the Well and shouted slogans against the Government, provoking the members of the treasury benches, who also moved towards the Speaker's podium.

Congress member VD Satheesan said the Minister used abusive words like 'bloody rascal' through the Chief Minister's mike. Later, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan, who managed to control the tense situation, said abusive words would be removed from the Assembly records. (UNI)
