Thrissur, Feb 5 : Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday said that the Centre has not sought any report from him on the petition moved by the Kerala Government on Citizenship (Amendment)Act (CAA) before the Supreme Court.
On being asked whether the state government overlooked the propriety of informing the Governor before moving the court, he said "Let the issue be decided by the Supreme Court". He said there is no conflict between him and the government on CAA and he has already made his stand clear.
The Governor also said that the file pertaining to corruption in the Palarivattom over bridge construction, in which former minister V K Ibrahimkunju's name has come up, the Governor said the concerned file was not with him, but with the State government. The Vigilance department had only sought his permission to prosecute the former minister, which was a constitutional necessity, he said.
