Kerala set up 181 isolation wards to control Coronavirus

Thrissur, Feb 1: Kerala Health Department has set up 181 isolation wards 96 in various Government Medical Colleges and 85 in private hospitals in this district following the emergency situation that has emerged with the reporting of a Coronavirus incident in the State.

Twenty two persons, including newly admitted six patients are under medical observation in Thrissur Medical College and the General Hospital, an official press release said here on Saturday.

About 138 people are under observation in their houses. Two out of the 15 blood samples sent to the Pune Virology Institute tested negative as per the lab reports received here today.

As many as 1148 doctors and 973 para medical staff were given special training to deal with the emergency situation.

Ten ambulances were pressed into service to bring people coming from China through various airports in the State.

The total number of people under observation rose to 1,793 this day as it was 1,471 on Friday. The condition of the girl tested positive to the coronavirus in the Medical College Hospital here is stable, sources said. (UNI)
