CM alleges Union Budget ignores Kerala's demands

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 1: Kerala's demands were completely ignored by the Union Finance Minister in the Union Budget 20-2021, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleged here on Saturday.

Reacting to the announcements in the Union Budget, the Chief Minister said 22 per cent tax and surcharge on cooperative societies announced in the budget would badly affect the existence of societies.

Alleging that necessary funds were not announced in the budget for the support of the Cochin Shipyard and Refinery, he said that the Kerala's demands, including Semi High-Speed Corridor, Angamaly-Sabari Railway Line, GST compensation, subsidy for rubber, revival package for FACT, new AIIMS, were completely ignored in the budget.
