Wayanad, Jan. 30: Former AICC president and local MP Rahul Gandhi has questioned the authority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for seeking the citizenship of the people.
At a public meeting after participating in the 'Bharanagadana Samrakshana' rally (Constitution protection rally) organised by the Congress-led United Democratic Front at Kalpetta on Thursday, the Congress leader said it was most unfortunate that a situation has arised that Indians has to now prove their Nationality.
There is no need for all the 130-crore odd people of this country to prove their citizenship, Rahul asserted. He said both Modi and Mahatma Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse are having the same ideologies, but the former does not disclose his policies. He is interested only in protecting his friends and he had sold all ports to Adani.
Many more companies would be sold out under pretext of privatisation, the former Congress president said. "Mr Modi is not doing anything for the economic development of the country. The country's unemployment has reached its highest level. No CAA or NRC would give jobs to the youth," Rahul contended. (UNI)
