Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 29 : Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday alleged that Governor Arif Mohammad Khan was acting as an agent of RSS and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Talking to newspersons after boycotting the Governor's customary policy speech at the State Legislative Assembly marking the beginning of the Budget session, the Opposition leader said the Chief Minister, who is facing the Lavalin case in the SC, was forced to compromise with the Governor and the BJP Government at the Centre.
"How the Chief Minister can support the Governor who openly criticised the anti-CAA resolution unanimously passed by the elected members of the House," he asked. Alleging that the Governor was acting as a bridge between the Chief Minister and the Centre, he said the silence of the Chief Minister against the Governor is doubtful.
He also blamed Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan for calling the watch and ward to remove the Opposition MLAs who protested against the Governor on the Well of the House. A few MLAs have been manhandled by the watch and ward, he added. He also demanded the Speaker to consider his notice seeking permission to bring a resolution against the Governor requesting the President to call him back. (UNI)
