Sabarimala, Jan 20: The Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala was closed after 'Athazhapuja' (Nightpuja) on Monday, marking the culmination of the annual Makarivilakku pilgrim season.
The darshan for the pilgrims at the temple was ended on Monday evening.
The Melsanthi closed the sanctum sanctorum after the nightpuja on Monday.
On January 21, royal designate from Pandalam Palace R Pradeepkumar Varma will have a darshan at the temple, the customary holy darshan exclusively for the royal representative.
The Guruthi to propitiate the cohorts of Lord Ayyappa was performed at Malikappuram after the closure of the temple. (UNI)
