Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 20: Kerala Chief Secretary Tom Jose on Monday called on Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and explained him the State Government's stand on its decision to move the Supreme Court against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
The Chief Secretary met the Governor after the Cabinet meeting. He was earlier asked by the Governor to submit a report on the Government decision to approach the Apex Court against the CAA without informing him. Mr Jose informed to Mr Khan that the State Government moved the Top Court against the CAA citing growing displeasure in the society.
In the meeting, which is lasted for about 20 minutes, the Chief Secretary is understood to have informed the Governor that the rules were not violated willingly, and this should not be seen as a 'tussle' between the Government and the Raj Bhavan. (UNI)
