Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 15: Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to upgrade the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (lITM-K) to a digital University in the state.
The Cabinet decided to recommend Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to issue an ordinance in this regard, sources said.
The new digital University would be known as Kerala University of Digital Sciences Innovation and Technology, it added.
The university would have new technological courses like Artificial Intelligence,Data Analytics, Block Chain, Cognitive Science, Internet of Things and Augmented Reality.
The Cabinet also took a decision to acquire 1,351 acres for the Kochi-Bangalore Industrial Corridor.
The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) would be assigned to acquire the land with an estimated amount Rs 1,038 crore. (UNI)
