The Maradu flat demolition on the orders of Supreme Court was completed successfully on Sunday with the last of the flats - Golden Kayaloram - being razed to the ground at 2.30 pm.
Earlier in the morning, the third flat Jains Coral Cove was demolished. Two others, Holy Faith H2O and the twin towers of Alfa Serene, were brought down on Saturday.
The demolition through controlled implosion was completed at 2.30 pm on Sunday. There was a small delay in sounding the first siren to ensure that everything was in order. The anganwadi close to the flat suffered no damage.
The demolition of all the four flat complexes went off without any damage to structures in the vicinity.
Officials said clearing of the debris in the area would be taken up immediately.
The demolition of the flats has sent the message clear and loud that violations would not be allowed.
