Student dies after snakebite, accused absconds, doctor move bail plea

Wayanad, Nov 24: Following police registering a case against four people in connection to a student's death due to snakebite, all the accused have absconded in fear of arrest.

The Wayanad police on Friday registered a case against four people for negligence at work due to which a class five student was bitten by the snake. The deceased girl was identified as Shehla Sherin. The accused in the suo motto case includes the school principal, headmaster, class teacher and doctor.

Sources said the reports by both the district collector and the district medical officer is said to have rejected the taluk medical officer's claim that no anti-venom was available in the hospital. Dr Jisa will move an anticipatory bail plea in the High Court on Monday, the source added. (UNI)
