Visakhapatnam, Nov 4: Jana Sena party Chief Pawan Kalyan on Sunday evening alleged that the YSR congress party government in the state has totally failed to protect the welfare of the people particularly construction workers in the state.
Addressing a largely attended public meeting after a long march from Maddilapalem junction to Gandhi statue at the greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation in the city, Pawan demanded the government to sanction Rs.50, 000 to all the 35 lakh construction workers who lost their livelihood for the last five months due to scarcity of the sand.
He also demanded to sanction Rs five lakhs as ex-Gratia to each of the 36 construction workers who died due to lack of job. He put a deadline to the YSRCP government in the state stating that he will give two-weeks time to the government to solve the construction workers problem.
If the government failed to solve the problem,he said he will walk on roads in Amaravati. He also alleged that instead of rectifying the faults in sand policy during the Telugu Desam Party govenrment, he totally neglected the construction workers and stopped supply of sand to the construction industry which is very important for the economic development of the state and the country.
The State Cabinet Ministers have no right to take their salaries when the construction workers and their families were facing problems due to lack of job due to the wrong policies adopted by the YSRCP government in the state, he said. (UNI)
