Wayanad, Sep 25: In order to mount pressure on the Central Government to lift the night travel ban on the Kozhikode-Mysuru ghat section, forming part of NH-766, the United Democratic Front (UDF) will observe a dawn-to-dusk hartal in this district on October 5. Congress sources said the decision to go for a hartal has been taken in the wake of reports that the travel through the NH 766 is likely to be banned during the day time also.
Various agitations are being staged in the hilly district, in protest against the night travel ban on the main highway linking Kozhikode and Mysuru. The ban has been extended early this year. (UNI)
