Lady Luck smiled on six friends, all employees of a jewellery firm at Karungapally. They are winners of the Rs 12-crore Kerala Government's Onam bumper lottery.
The six - Roni, Vivek, Subin, Ratheesh, Rajim and Rajeevan had shared Rs 300 to buy the ticket from the dealer in front of the jewellery where they work at Karungapally. They are said to have bought two tickets from the vendor chipping in Rs 100 each. On Thursday they learnt that one of the tickets had won the first prize.
They would get a total Rs 7.56 crore after deduction of taxes and commission. The lottery agent will get Rs 1.2 crore. The six have decided to go by what they did to buy the ticket - share the amount equally among them.
