Kochi, Sep 15 : Activists of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam and Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BJDS) accorded a warm welcome to Thushar Vellapally at Kochi International Airport here on Sunday.
Mr Vellapally, the President of of BJDS and Vice-President of SNDP was arrested in a cheque bounce case and returned to Kerala after a court in United Arab Emirates quashed the case.
SNDP had arranged a special welcome meeting at the Advaita ashram in Angamaly here to regain Tushar's, son of SNDP Yogam General secretary Vellappally Natesan, popularity.
The cheque bounce case charged against Tushar at Ajman was quashed after the court there found that the documents submitted by the complainant Nazil Abdullah were not trustworthy.
Thushar got back his passport, which was impounded by the court, following the lifting of the ban on his travel. The court accepted Tushar's argument that he had not given a cheque to Abdullah. Earlier, Tushar had tried for an out-of-court settlement of the case. (UNI)
