Alappuzha, Sep 4: Former Deputy Prime Minister and BJP patriarch L K Advani, who is in Kerala on a seven-day vacation, visited Mararikulam Mahadevar Temple and performed 'Rudrabhishekam' to the presiding deity here on Tuesday evening.
Advani along with a seven-member team including his daughter Pratibha Advani were staying at Marari Beach Resort. On his arrival at the temple, he was accorded a traditional reception by the temple authorities. He performed 'Rudrabhishekam', one of the important rituals of the temple. He was also offered a gift of 51 Rudraksha beads by the temple manager Dr VS Jayan on the occasion.
Ms Pratibha Advani said they will join an Onam celebration to be held at the Marari Resort as part of the 10-day Onam festival in the State. Mr Advani is currently under Z Plus security. On his arrival at the Kochi International Airport on Monday evening, Mr Advani was received by Kerala BJP leaders including Party President PS Sreedharan Pillai, Vice President PM Velayudhan and General Secretary AN Radhakrishnan.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also met the BJP leader at the Airport VIP Lounge. The senior BJP leader will leave for Delhi on September 8.Earlier, LK Advani had visited Kumarakom on a vacation in 2017.(UNI)
