Kozhikode, Sep 3 : Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee(KPCC) President Mullappally Ramachandran has urged the Government to order a judicial inquiry into the Public Service Commission (PSC) scam.

Inaugurating the “rappakal” (day and night) dharna aimed at highlighting the anti-people policies of the State and Central Governments in all district headquarters in the State under the aegis of the United Democratic Front (UDF) here on Tuesday, the KPCC Chief said the leaking of question papers and preparation of rank list by the PSC should be part of the judicial inquiry.

The unholy nexus of the PSC insiders and the lobby outside has been exposed in the Civil Police Officer recruitment scam. The dimensions are much higher and hence the whole scam should be investigated by a judicial officer, Mr Mullappally urged.
The PSC has been reduced to an institution that pave way for recruiting the communist-loyal students through its back door. He said even the High Court had expressed its serious concern over the gravity of the scam and wanted an independent agency to inquire into it. But the State Government was trying to cover up the scam by an eye wash investigation by the bureaucracy.

The police department had also deteriorated to its lowest levels and has become a centre of inefficiency, Mr Mullappally said. “Being the Home Minister also, is Mr Pinarayi Vijayan not ashamed of being the head of the department,'' the KPCC president said. (UNI)
