Expressing satisfaction over the reply given by Shashi Tharoor over ‘Modi praise issue’, the KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran has said that the matter was 'a closed chapter' now.

“Senior leader Shashi Tharoor's 'praise' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was misconstrued, and that it requires no action, bringing to an end a week-long war of words within the party,” he added.

For a week, Senior Congress leaders such as opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and MP K. Muralidharan have attacked Sashi Throor over Modi praise. The verbal war sometimes breached the limits of decorum. Finally, Mullappally Ramachandran asked for an explanation from Tharoor over the issue. Tharoor's strongly worded rebuttal was a convincing one for KPCC President.

"I'm astonished to hear that you believe that I have sought to justify Prime Minister Modi," Sashi Tharoor wrote in his reply. Who on earth can credibly accuse me of a “volte face…find me one leader from our state who has made 10% of the effort I made to study, research, anticipate and oppose the Modi government". "You are aware of all of this. So what is this outcry about?" Throor wrote.

Later, Tharoor’s personal letter to Mullappally Ramachandran had leaked to the media. On Twitter, Tharoor also expressed concern over the details of his internal exchange with Ramachandran leaked to the media.
