Wayanad, Aug 27 : Former Congress President and Wayanad Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi has appealed to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to allot funds for repair and reconstruction of roads that were destroyed in three districts of Kerala due to rains and floods.
In a letter to Mr Gadkari on Monday, Mr Rahul stated, his Lok Sabha constituency, which was spread into three districts--Wayanad, Malappuram and Kozhikode, had been most devastated in the August 8 rains and floods. Most of the roads and other connectivity in the flood-hit areas of the constituency had been damaged or washed away, Mr Gandhi pointed out in his letter.
Meanwhile, the Congress leader is expected to visit the flood-landslide hit areas of Wayanad and Malappuram districts on Tuesday. (UNI)
