Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 21 : The death toll in rain-related incidents rose to 125 in Kerala on Wednesday even as 17 people were still missing following torrential rains, floods and landslides in various districts since August 8 in the state.
As many as 6,286 people from 1,899 families were still staying in 86 relief camps in various districts, even as several returned to their homes after water receding in their places.
According to the latest information, six people died in Alappuzha district, two each in Kottayam and Kasaragod districts, five in Idukki, nine each in Thrissur and Kannur, 60 in Malappuram, 17 in Kozhikode, 14 in Wayanad and one in Palakkad districts.
As many as 17 people, 11 from Malappuram and five from Wayanad and one from Kottayam were still missing, it added.
Around 1,791 houses were fully damaged and 14,559 houses have been partially damaged in the floods, sources said.(UNI)
