Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 19: Death toll in rain-related incidents rose to 121 in Kerala on Sunday even as 21 people are still missing following torrential rains, floods and landslides in various districts since August eight in the State. "As many as 47,622 people from 14,916 families are staying in 296 relief camps in various districts, even as several returned to their homes after water receding in their places," sources said.
According to the latest information available with the Government, six people died in Alappuzha district, two each in Kottayam and Kasaragod districts, five in Idukki, nine each in Thrissur and Kannur, 58 in Malappuram, 17 in Kozhikode, 12 in Wayanad and one in Palakkad districts till this night. "As many as 21 people -- 13 from Malappuram and 7 from Wayanad and 1 from Kottayam -- are still missing," it added. Sources said 1,789 houses were fully damaged and 14,542 houses have been partially damaged in the floods. UNI
