Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 13 : The death toll in rain-related incidents, floods and landslides rose to 86 in Kerala even as 61 people are still missing in various districts since August 8 in the State.
As many as 2,24,506 people from 68,098 families are staying in 1,243 relief camps in various districts, even as several people returned to their homes after water receded at their places, Official sources said here on Tuesday.
Sources said two people each died in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kasaragod districts, 5 in Idukki, 8 in Thrissur, 29 in Malappuram, 17 in Kozhikode, 12 in Wayanad, 9 in Kannur districts till today.
As many as 61 people -- 53 from Malappuram and 7 from Wayanad and 1 from Kottayam -- are still missing, the sources added.
Sources said 1,057 houses were fully damaged and 11,142 houses have been partially damaged in the floods. (UNI)
