Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 25 : Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday inaugurated a Secretariat siege organised by Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) demanding a CBI probe over the alleged corruption in PSC and a judicial probe into the incidents in University College.

The Secretariat siege resulted in huge traffic congestion affecting the functioning of many offices in the city and closuring of many roads to avoid traffic block. Meanwhile, heavy police contingent has been deployed in and around the Secretariat to avoid any untoward incident.

Out of four entry points, only cantonment gate is opened to ensure the entry of Secretariat staff and the Ministers. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chennithala said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was downplaying the major corruption reported in the University College and the PSC.

Demanding a CBI probe in PSC malpractices and judicial probe into the incidents in University College, he said top CPI(M) leaders were allegedly involved in the crime. (UNI)
