Mumbai police issues lookout notice against Binoy Kodiyeri

More than a week after an unsuccessful hunt for rape and sexual assault accused Binoy Kodiyeri, son of CPIM politburo member and Kerala secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Mumbai police issued a lookout notice.

The lookout notice against Binoy Kodiyeri comes in the backdrop of the complaint to Oshiwara police in Mumbai by a former dance bar girl in a Dubai. She alleged that Binoy had sexually assaulted her on the promise of marriage and she had an eight-year-old son in that relationship. She and the child were shifted to Mumbai and Binoy had paid to meet their expenses here regularly till 2015. Later in 2018 when she came to know that he was already married, she complained to Binoy and demanded Rs 5 crore for the child.

Binoy's mother and later Binoy himself came for a compromise. She later received death threats. She furnished documents of her passport and that of the child which proves Binoy's relationship. She also submitted details of the bank transactions.

Mumbai police came to Kerala to arrest Binoy but went back as he went into hiding. The lookout notice comes when the Dindoshi civil and sessions court is scheduled to hear Binoy Kodiyeri's anticipatory bail plea on Thursday. Police issued the notice mainly to prevent Binoy from leaving the country. All airports have been alerted.
