Former MP and legislator AP Abdullakutty, who was recently expelled from the Congress, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in Delhi, giving strength to speculation that he will join BJP. He also met BJP national president Amit Shah.
If he joins BJP, Abdullakutty will have the rare 'distinction' of having been part of three fronts in Kerala, LDF, Congress-led UDF and now BJP's NDA. Abdullakutty told mediapersons that Modi and Shah had asked him to join BJP and a decision would be taken later. He said that on World Yoga Day, he took part in yoga and shared details with Modi.
He was expelled from Congress for praising Modi and his development models in a Facebook post. He was said to have met state BJP leaders after being ousted.
Earlier, Abdullakutty, who entered politics through SFI, was twice the CPM Member of Parliament. He was expelled for his pro-Modi remarks then on the development model number in Gujarat. Political observers feel he might be the BJP candidate for the Manjeswaram
