Madurai, Jun 15: Circle Inspector of Ernakulam Central Police Station, V.S.Navas who reportedly went missing since early morning on Thursday was traced at Karur Railway station in Tamil Nadu early on Saturday.Police sources said, Mr Navas was reportedly missing allegedly after having an argument with his senior officer on Wednesday night.
He had surrendered his wireless set and the SIM card of his official mobile phone at the police station before mysterious disappearance. His mobile was switched off ever since.The cop’s wife had lodged a petition with Kochi City Police Commissioner Vijay Sakhare seeking to trace her husband.She alleged that harassment and pressure from senior officers had led to the disappearance of her husband.
Even as the Kerala police launched a massive search for the missing cop, Mr.Navas had reportedly approached the RPF official Sunil Kumar at Madurai Railway junction at around 0200 AM this morning seeking assistance for travel to Coimbatore after which he was guided to the Nagercoil-Coimbatore express train.Mr.Navas was made to detain at Karur Railway Station after being identified by Tamil Nadu RPF personnel with the assistance of Kerala police.
Police teams from Palakkad and Kochi reached Karur and Madurai subsequently to take him to Kerala.Mr.Navas is a native of Kuthiathode in Alappuzha district and has been living with his family in Thevara. (UNI)
