Thiruvananthapuram, June 11: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and his family members visited Kerala Assembly and witnessed the proceedings for a few minutes on Tuesday. As Gadkari entered the VIP Gallery, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan announced his arrival to the house.
Gadkari who greeted with folded hands has received applause from both the treasury and Opposition benches.
Earlier, the Union Minister who is on a private visit to Kerala called on Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan at his office where he also met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and discussed developments of NH in the State.
The Union Minister extended full support to Kerala for all the ongoing projects. The land acquisition is a big problem in a state like Kerala, the Minister said.
Later, the Minister and his family had lunch with the Chief Minister at his official residence, Cliff House. Gadkari, who reached here with his family members on Thursday last, was in Kovalam and stayed in a private hotel, and visited a few places in Kanyakumari in Tami Nadu.
The Minister, who also visited a few handicraft shops in the city, offered financial aid for the sector. (UNI)
