Thiruvananthapuram, June 11: One of the shutters of the Aruvikkara dam in this district was opened on late Monday night due to heavy rains after the set-in of monsoon in Kerala.
The shutter has been opened after the water level touched 46.50 ft following heavy rains, according to sources at water authority department here.
The people residing on the banks of Karamana river are warned of rising water level, sources added. The prediction of heavy rain in the next 24 hours over Kerala is also a cause for concern. (UNI)
