The two priests, Fr Paul Thelekat and Fr Antony Kalokaran, of Syro-Malabar Catholic Church and facing charges of forging documents in the case to 'trap' Cardinal George Alencherry, secured anticipatory bail from a sessions court in Kochi on Tuesday.
The two were quizzed by the police for over a week for allegedly producing fake documents in the case against the cardinal.
The interrogation of an engineer, Adityan, arrested in the case, led to the police turning to the two senior priests. A number of priests were quizzed earlier.
The prosecution is likely to move the High Court against the anticipatory bail.
