Modi to visit Guruvayur temple on June 8

Guruvayur, Jun 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Guruvayur temple on June 8 -- his first ever visit to Kerala after taking oath for the second time.

This was confirmed by Guruvayur Devaswom Chairman K B Mohandas who said a communication to this effect was received from the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday.Modi will reach the temple town by helicopter from Kochi at 12 noon and will spend about two hours in darshan and poojas, the Devaswom Chairman said.

Special pooja and ‘thulabharam’ will be held for Modi. A delegation of temple authorities is planning to meet and submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister for the development of Sree Krishna Temple. He has no other official programme in Kerala.It will be the first visit of Modi to Guruvayur after he was elected Prime Minister in 2014. He had visited the temple in 2008 during his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister.
