Thiruvananthapuram, May 30: A 30-member BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) team from Kerala left for New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister on Thursday evening.
Kerala BJP President PS Sreedharan Pillai, Rajya Sabha member V Muralidharan, former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan, actor-turned politician Suresh Gopi, MP, BDJS President Thushar Vellappally and party general secretary K Surendran were among those who left for National Capital.
Meanwhile, Pillai hoped that though there was no representation of MPs from Kerala in the recently held Lok Sabha election, the State will get its due share in the Union Cabinet.
It may be noted that Alphons Kannanthanam was a Minister from Kerala in the first term of the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre.
As Kerala is going to face the next Assembly election in 2021, the party expects more berths in the Cabinet to win some seats in the state.
