CPI leader Divakaran lambasts VS, Isaac; says sidelined his party

The mud-slinging appears to have begun even before the election results are out. LDF Thiruvanthapuram Lok Sabha candidate and CPI leader C Divakaran lashed out at former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan and Finance Minister Thomas Isaac, saying the both the leaders had sidelined CPI during the VS cabinet.

As a coalition partner of the previous LDF government, Divakaran was also part of the VS Cabinet. The impact of these remarks could be severe on the CPI ties with leading partner CPIM in case the election results do not turn favourable to the front. At a meeting organised by Bharana Parishkara Vedi in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, Divakaran alleged that during the previous LDF rule, VS sidelined the partner CPI and it's ministers, including him. The attitude of Isaac too was no different who made it a point to delay taking action on files presented by CPI ministers.

He said the disputes among Ministers then were galore. In his attack on Isaac, Divakaran said, "The Finance Minister did not have any special privileges and had no authority to interfere in affairs of other departments. There were several instances when I took a strong stand against him.”Divakaran did not spare the Administrative Reforms Commission now headed by VS, saying it was a big failure.
