The meeting between ministers and elephant owners has decided to seek legal advice on the matter of parading Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran. As the matter is subjudice, the ministers in the meeting decided to seek legal advice on whether a final decision on the issue can be taken by district monitoring committee led by District Collector TV Anupama.

The discussions were held in the presence of ministers Kadakampally Surendran and VS Sunilkumar. An amicable solution on the issue will be found soon, said the agricultural minister VS Sunil Kumar. A positive solution for the issue has been almost reached in the meeting, says officials of Elephant Owners Federation.

As soon as the Chief Minister returned after his European tour, a wider meeting will be convened to decide on Pooram and parading of elephants.

A more positive amicable solution has been already found on the matter, said Elephant Owners Federation State President KB Ganesh Kumar.

“Elephant owners are facing a lot of issues regarding the parading of elephants for festivals in Kerala. We tried to find solutions for all these issue in the meeting. To make any roadblocks to Thrissur Pooram is not on our agenda”, said Ganesh Kumar.
