Police have arrested seven persons in connection with the assault of three passengers of a Bengaluru-bound bus of Kallada Travels. All are staff of the travel agency, according to a police statement.
Kochi City Police Commissioner S Surendran said in the statement that cases were registered on grounds of attempt to murder. Further investigation was on and all steps to ensure a fair probe, the statement added. Thrikkakara Assistant Commissioner of Police Stuart K was leading the investigation. The bus involved in the incident was in police custody and steps had been initiated to cancel the bus permit.
Passengers who objected to undue delay owing to the bus breaking down were assaulted when another bus brought the passengers to Vytilla in Ernakulam.
