A goof-up by the presiding officer has resulted in re-polling at a booth at Kalamassery in the Ernakulam constituency. The presiding officer at booth number 83 at Kalamassery forgot to delete the votes cast during mock polling.
Chief election officer Teeka Ram Meena said in Thiruvanthapuram that it came to the notice that 43 votes polled during the trial run were not deleted by the presiding officer leading to the number of votes higher than those polled. He said the date for the repoll would be announced by the election commission. The action was taken, following a complaint filed to the officer by on of the agents as the final tally was higher than the number of votes polled in the machine, he added.
